Job description
Short summary of project
Climate change leads to vulnerability of inland water transport in navigable rivers. This research project involves an economic analysis of the consequences of such a change in climate. Measures of unreliability in transport will be formulated and adjusted to the context of inland navigation. Stated Preference surveys will be carried out among customers on their valuation of reliability of this transport mode given the possibilities of high and low water situations. Implications for transport flows will be analysed by means of integration of reliability issues in an advanced transport economics network model for modal choice and route choice of freight transport in Europe.
