EU Research Training Network on (r)evolutionary catalysis An Interdisciplinary Training Programme in Supramolecular and Biological Catalysis
One PhD studentship is available for three years from April or October 2007 at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Cambridge in the group of Dr. Sijbren Otto as part of the EU Marie Curie Research Training Network “(R)evolutionary catalysis”.
The projects involve the development of new (supramolecular) catalysts using dynamic combinatorial chemistry [Science 2002, 297, 590; Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2003, 42, 1270] and will be a mixture of organic synthesis, analytical chemistry and functional studies.
Applicants should have or expect to obtain a first class degree or diploma (Bachelors, Masters or equivalent) in an appropriate scientific discipline. Non-British nationals of the EU and of associated countries, with less than four years research experience, are eligible to apply. Further details of the programme are available on http://www.revcat.eu.
Applications should include a CV, a one-page statement of research interests and the names of two referees, and should be sent to: Dr. Otto (
), University of Cambridge, Department of Chemistry, Lensfield Road, Cambridge, CB2 1EW, UK. For further information and informal enquiries contact Dr. S. Otto (
).
