The Centre for Health Informatics is offering four full-time PhD scholarships to undertake research in the following areas:
Communicable disease informatics and biosurveillance
Agent-based models of communication in health organisations
Clinical communication system design
Decision-making and computational discovery technologies for the clinical biosciences

We are also happy to review proposals from exceptional candidates to
carry out research in other areas related to the Centre’s overall
research program.
Each scholarship provides an annual tax-free stipend of $25,627
per annum in 2007 (tax exempt) for three years and will be awarded on a
competitive basis.
Applicants should be Australian citizens or permanent
residents. Selection criteria include: quality of academic record (HI
or HIIA honours degree or equivalent in computer science; engineering,
medicine, or other relevant disciplines); an interest in health /
biomedical informatics, potential for completing a PhD; good
communication skills and commitment to team working.
