The study of mitochondria in health and disease is one of the main research topics of the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. The Centre offers an outstanding research environment. Applications are invited from individuals of the highest caliber with Ph.D. degree. A strong background in cell biology, molecular biology or pharmacology is required. The projects advertised here are highly integrated with other research projects of the NCMD, and aim at bringing together several disciplines to attack a single biological problem – mitochondrial disease. University Medical Centre Nijmegen Department of Pediatrics-NCMD, (CUKZ)

The NCMD is a multi-disciplinary diagnostic and research facility of the University Medical Center Nijmegen initiated by the Department of Metabolic Diseases of the University Children's Hospital Nijmegen. Patient care is at the heart, and research is at the foundation of the NCMD at the Department of Pediatrics. This Center unifies the three essential elements of medical progress, diagnosis, treatment and research. The physicians and scientists of the NCMD are all working toward a common goal: to understand and develop more effective treatments for mitochondrial and metabolic disease. This is accomplished through a unified program of patient care, basic science, and clinical research.
