A number of scholarships are avaiable for PhD students in the Department of Economics at the University of Otago.

The PhD programme is open to applicants holding a masters or honours degree in economics, which includes a research dissertation. The PhD programme is by research thesis only.

Applications from all areas of economics or econometrics will be considered, but the Department is especially interested in applicants wishing to do research in one of the following areas: growth and development, health economics, monetary and macroeconomics, international economics and the economics of sport.
