PYROSEARCH - The University of Queensland, Australia , is
seeking a qualified student to undertake a PhD study in phase
equlibria study. Prospective students with strong knowledge in phase
equilibria, thermodynamic and materials characterisations, are
encouraged to send their CV to the e-mail shown below for
consideration. The CV must outline your academic qualifications,
experience, 2-3 refereesEinformation, and your covering letter
(email) may explain your interest in PYROSEARCH activity and
highlight relevant experiences.
Project Description
Phase Equilibria Study of Complex Systems
Associated with Ni.
This project aims to develop a further understanding of phase
equlibria of complex systems associated with Ni and also provide a
basis for the development of thermodynamic database of the systems.
These include phase equilibria study of Fe-Ni-O, Fe-Ni-Co-O, Fe-Ni-Co-
Mg- Al-O, Fe-Ni-Co-Mg- Al-Cr-Si- O systems. The main tasks associated
with the project include: reviewing of current understanding of the
phase equilibria and of thermodynamic data of the systems;
undertaking experiments that include high temperature equilibration
of synthetic oxides mixtures; as well as materials characterisations
using electron probe x-ray microanalysis (EPMA) and field emission
scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM).
