The International Max-Planck Research School for Immunobiology and Development (IMPRS-IBD) of the Max-Planck Institute of Immunobiology and the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg in Germany invites suitable candidates to apply for a position in our exciting new International PhD programme, which is going to start in October 2006 in Freiburg, Germany.

We invite applications from all countries. Applicants must hold a Bachelors degree with honours (Bsc Hons), a Masters degree or a Diplom (or equivalent) in biology, biochemistry, medicine, chemistry, or related fields. It is not necessary to hold the degree at the point of application. However, you must have been awarded your degree prior to the start of the program in October 2006. Candidates have to be fluent in written and spoken English and document their proficiency in English (TOEFL). German is not required.

The applications are reviewed by the selection committee of the Research School. Based on their academic qualification, motivation, suitability to the program and on 2 letters of recommendation, candidates are selected for personal interviews in Freiburg.

How to apply:
Full details of the requirements for the application and the application forms can be found at www.imprs-ibd.mpg.de. The interviews in Freiburg will preferentially take place in the last week of July or first week of August 2006.

Application deadline: 30.06.2006
