ESRC Studentships: School of Social Sciences

Cardiff School of Social Sciences invites applications for the
following funded research degree studentships available for September
2006.
ESRC 1+3 Quota Studentships
Applications are invited from candidates for 1+3 Quota Studentships and
a 3-year PhD. The ESRC has awarded 14 quota '1+3' studentships for this
year. We are seeking strong applicants (with a first class, or upper
second class honours degree or master's degree) to work in one of the
following areas:
Education (5 quota studentships)
Social Work (3 quota studentships)
Sociology (2 quota studentships)
Socio Legal (2 quota studentships)
Social Policy (2 quota studentships)
ESRC +3 Studentships
Applications are invited for 3-year PhD studentships from strong
candidates with ESRC-recognised Research Methods training (please see ESRC website), whose research interests can be supported by our academic staff in the areas of:
Education
Sociology
Social Policy
Socio-Legal Studies
Social Work
Science, Technology and Innovation Studies
Cardiff School of Social Sciences
has an international reputation for its research in the areas of: Crime
and Criminal Justice; Education, the State and Society; Health and
Illness; Gender and Sexuality; Scientific and Medical Knowledge; Social
Theory and Research Methods; Critical Psychology and Work; Employment
and Society.

University's postgraduate application process and downloadable
application forms can be accessed via http://www.cardiff.ac.uk/postgraduate/pgapply).
The deadline for this is Wednesday 10th March 2006.
