Italy: Young Research Fellowship Programme PDF Print E-mail

Tuesday, 11 November 2008

Young Research Fellows (YRF) at Institute for Advanced Studies, IMT Lucca are selected through the Young Research Fellow Program, with international selection procedures. A Young Research Fellow is typically hired on a three-year renewable contract for an Assistant Professor or a Post-Doctoral Fellow position.

IMT Lucca is a dynamic center for young researchers. A combination of private and public funds enables IMT to compete on an international level to attract top junior faculty. International selection processes comply with international standards including the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. Once hired, IMT incentive schemes are designed to promote and reward scientific productivity.

An IMT Research Fellow is a resident researcher pursuing advanced studies. IMT competitions for Research Fellows offer positions for both Assistant Professors and Post-Doctoral Fellows and involve evaluation by current junior and senior researchers.

Research Fellows are appointed for a fixed term from one year up to three years. All contracts may be renewed once, for up to six years. IMT Research Fellows work closely with other young researchers, graduate students, and senior researchers, and have a limited teaching load in the school's graduate programs. Evaluation procedures are based on rigorous peer review criteria. IMT believes that faculty and staff diversity contributes to excellence and is an equal-opportunity employer.

Young Research Fellow positions in the fields of:

  • Economics
  • Political Sciences
  • Computer Sciences and Engineering

 Deadline: 01-12-2008
