Netherlands: PhD positions in Reactor Engineering
Written by Administrator
Saturday, 20 September 2008
The PhD vacancies are in the area of design
and development of modern and novel multi-functional reactors and
miniaturized reaction systems for a sustainable manufacture of chemical
products. Challenges are found in the combination and integration of
physical and chemical unit operations at a (very) small scale, i.e. at
a scale of centimeters to micrometers. Boundary and interface phenomena
play a crucial role in the interactions of gas and liquid phases at
these length scales during reactant mixing, mass transfer, and
(catalyzed) chemical reactions. Microreactors, spinning disk reactors,
rotating foam reactors, and other structured (catalytic) multi-phase
reactors and separation devices are developed for many different
applications. The section wants to expand its activities in this
innovative area of research by means of the appointment of several PhD
students.
