PhD Student (m/f)
Description of the project: The PhD student
will be involved in the biochemical and behavioral characterization of
recently generated rat knockout models for genes involved in
neurobiological processes, as well as in the generation of novel rat
knockout models.
Requirements
Applicants for the PhD position should have a background in molecular
biology and/or behavioral research. Experience with model organisms and
article 9/12 certification is preferred.

The Hubrecht Laboratory, Netherlands Institute
for Developmental Biology of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and
Sciences, is a research institute comprising 15 research groups which
focus on a wide variety of topics concerning developmental genetics and
disease. The Institute provides a highly interactive research
environment with excellent central research facilities and is directed
by Prof. Ronald Plasterk and Prof. Hans Clevers. The Institute has
close connections with Utrecht University and plays a central role in
the Utrecht Graduate School for Developmental Biology in which the
Hubrecht PhD students participate.
Conditions of employment
Estimated maximum salary per month: eur 2000 - 2500
Maximum salary amount in Euro's a month 2407 Employment basis: Temporary for specified period Duration of the contract: 4 years Maximum hours per week: 38
Additional conditions of employment:
This position involves a temporary appointment for 4 years.
The maximum gross monthly salary coming with a full-time appointment
will amount to € 1.877,-- in the first year and € 2.407,-- in the last
year (according to the Collective Agreement for Dutch
Universities/CAO-Nederlandse Universiteiten), excluding 8% holiday pay
and a year-end bonus. We offer an extensive package of fringe benefits.
