his is an opportunity to join the new Biomolecular Nanotechnology group in the Department of Pure & Applied Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland (UK). A one year EPSRC funded position is available in development of next generation self-assembled biomaterials for three-dimensional cell culture starting October 2008. The project is multi-disciplinary in nature, with a focus on biomaterials chemistry and in vitro cell culture.

Candidates for this ambitious project should have a PhD in Biomaterials science or a related area, should be team players and have outstanding track records of research achievement. Experience in molecular self-assembly, rheology, spectroscopy (including CD, fluorescence, UV/Visible), microscopy (AFM, TEM), biochemical assays and three-dimensional cell culture is desirable but training will be provided.  For more information on these positions please contact Prof. Ulijn ( ).
