UK: PhD Studentships in Biophysical Science, University of Manchester PDF Print E-mail

Applications are invited for PhD studentships in Biological Physics Group, School of Physics and Astronomy, the University of Manchester in the following areas:

(1) Biophysical modelling to investigate the functional impacts of gene mutations on cardiac arrhythmogenesis.
(2) Biophysical investigation of effects of surfactant nanostructural environment on the uptake of drug molecules.
(3) Interfacial nano-structure and solution self-assembly of designed peptide surfactants
(4) Controlled interfacial assembly of nanoparticles from nano-fluids

Each studentship cover 3 year tuition fees and living expenses. Applicants should hold or are expecting a 1st or 2(i) degree (or equivalent) in a relevant physical/biological or computing science subject.

The first project is funded by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and only UK or EU nationals are eligible to apply. Studentships in projects 2-4 are partially funded by leading international companies and the close collaboration with them will provide unique training opportunities and will benefit future career development.
