Pakistan: 50 Shell Pakistan Scholarships in Engineering and MBA

Pakistan has initiated a Scholarship program together with the Higher
Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, to fund the education of up to
50 students every year for degrees in Engineering and MBA.
Closing Date of Application
Application should reach on or before 31st July, 2008, by the close of office hours.
NO Application form will be accepted after the closing date.

BE/BSc Engineering
MS /MSc

Shell Scholarship Program covers following institutions ONLY:
Business Schools
Institute of Business Administration, IBA, Karachi & Sukkur
College of Business Management CBM, Karachi
Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Lahore
Lahore School of Economics (LSE), Lahore
University of Karachi (BBA Program, MBA Program, Petroleum Studies)
SZABIST, Karachi
Engineering Schools
University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore
NED University of Science & Technology, Karachi
Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI)
National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST)
Duration/ Details of Scholarship
Each scholarship will cover tuition, accommodation and maintenance cost for the scholarship holder only
The scholarship is renewable after successful completion of semesters
The scholarships covers the entire duration of the study program (02/04 years, as the case may be)
Short listing will be done on the basis of the financial need and merit of the applicant
The Selection Committee’s decision will be final and conclusive
Eligibility Criteria
All Pakistani/AJK nationals (permanent citizens) born on or after 31-07-1973 are eligible to apply, who:
Do
not possess below 70% marks in their entire academic career, (SSC &
HSC or Equivalent). (Obtaining 70% marks does not qualify you for
scholarship, as applications would be considered on need and highest
percentage basis).
Their results have been announced and mark-sheets/ transcripts are available.
They
are planning to apply or have already applied for admission in BBA, MBA
or MS/MSc in Petroleum related Disciplines in Fall 2008 session in
selected institutions of Pakistan (names of institutions given above)
Have family income less than or equal to Rs. 40,000 per month from all sources.
Are in need of additional financial assistance, to support their studies.
Are NOT a current or former employees of Shell Pakistan, or any of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group of Companies
The
applicants in the Masters programs (MS/MSc, MBA), should not have
obtained 3rd Division in the entire academic career and must have
secured 1st Division or 3 out of 4 CGPA in the Bachelors level Degree
or equivalent.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated on two criterions:
On Need Basis:
Where Applicant’s financial circumstances would be considered.
The Applicant should be able to demonstrate the need for financial assistance for completing his studies
On Merit Basis:
Where educational record and extra curricular activities would be considered.
Applicant should be academically sound (No less than 70% marks in any exam i.e. Matric and Intermediate examinations)

Attested copies of Mark sheets (Matriculation, Intermediate, Bachelor, Any other)
Attested Copies of Rent agreement (if any)
Copies of latest fee receipts of self & siblings
Attested copies of last three months income.Verified by legal slips of Father / Guardian
Attested copies of CNIC (Self, Father, Mother or Guardian, as applicable)
Attested
copies of last three months Utility Bills (Telephone, Gas &
Electricity)
Statement of purpose (future plans after acquiring higher education)
Disability certificate from a recognized hospital (if applicable)
Instructions for Filling the Application
Read
every field carefully, it is advised to photocopy the form and fill it
before filling the original application form to make sure all
information is correct.
Fields followed by an endnote should be filled after reading the endnote section given on last page.
Write in block letters with one character per block.
Keep a photocopy of the filled-in form for your record.
Ensure that you have attached all required documents by completing the checklist.
Answer all questions. Those not applicable should be marked “N/A”
For family financial reporting parents/guardians should be consulted.
Fields marked with a tick mark (?) should only be answered in the same.
All amounts should be mentioned in Pakistani Currency (Rs)
Do not overwrite or cross any information on the form
Do not Provide False or Incomplete information or one that cannot be supported with proof.
Affidavit needs to be submitted after qualifying for the scholarship.
The Applicant should not be a relative of neither a current nor former employee of Shell Pakistan Limited.
Each scholarship will cover tuition fee and subsistence allowance.
Incomplete and /or late applications received after closing date shall not be entertained.

Attached Rs.300/- Bank Draft / Pay Order drawn in favor of Shell Pakistan Limited, as application processing fee.
Last
Date for receipt of application in HEC is 31-07-2008. Applications
received after the closing date will NOT be entertained.
Send
completely filled application form along with attested copies of ALL
testimonials, mentioned on the website, so as to reach on or before
31st July, 2008, by the close of office hours, to the address given
