The Heidelberg Graduate
Research Group "New Symmetries and Extra Dimensions" offers five
attractive Ph.D. scholarships to candidates with a very good degree in
physics. A good knowledge of the basics of particle physics is required. Deadline: 16 May 2008
Successful
candidates will work on data analysis with the ATLAS experiment at the
LHC, in particular on searches for new phenomena (supersymmetry, extra
dimensions, mini black holes) or physics of strong interaction. A
selection of possible topics: - Search for supersymmetry in decays with tau leptons
- Search for supersymmetric Higgs bosons
- Mini black holes in contact interactions
- Search for monojets
- Jet measurements with the ATLAS Detector
