Netherlands: 3 PhD Students Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks
Written by Administrator
Wednesday, 27 February 2008
University of Twente Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science
Enschede, 7500 AE (Overijssel), 38 hours per week
Job description Project description: The project aims to
create an open, business driven architecture that
fundamentally addresses the scalability problems for a
large number of globally distributed wireless sensor and
actuator networks (WS&A) devices. It provides necessary
network and information management services to enable
reliable and accurate context information retrieval and
interaction with the physical environment. By adding
mechanisms for accounting, security, privacy and trust it
enables an open and secure market space for
context-awareness and real world interaction. Members
of the project will be required to develop a dynamic and
reconfigurable framework for wireless sensor networks that
is able to adapt autonomously to the requirements of the
environment. Special attention will be paid to the design
of energy-efficient and scalable protocols for reliable
software distribution and using higher-level abstractions
for dynamic task allocation.

Administration to Applied Communication Science and
Biomedical Technology. In beautiful green surroundings,
more than 8000 students and 2700 staff live, work and
recreate at the UT. It is also a place where talented
people get every opportunity to perform cutting edge
research. But as an entrepreneurial university this is not

work together with the business community, we support our
students in setting up their own businesses and participate
in many projects in the area of knowledge development. In
brief, a dynamic climate in which to work and study.
The faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics
and Computer Science from the University of Twente
educates, and conducts research with approximately 2000
students including 300 PhD-students. The faculty is also
responsible for a large volume of service education for
programmes of other faculties. The faculty has
approximately 300 permanent staff.
