Taiwan International Graduate Program PDF Print E-mail

Academia Sinica, the preeminent research institution in Taiwan, is pleased to announce that its Taiwan International Graduate Program is now accpeting applications for the 2006-2007 academic year.

Since 1994, Academia Sinica in Taipei, has been under the helm of Dr. Yuan T. Lee, a Nobel Laureate in Chemistry in 1986. Under his stewardship, the institution has been reinvigorated and expanded into a dynamic research center. More then one thousand researchers from Taiwan and abroad, most of them respected scholars in their fields, work in Academia Sinica's thirty institutes and research centers.

In 2002, Academia Sinica established the Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP), a PhD Granting program in cooperation with the most prestigious national universities in Taiwan.

Currently, it offers eight Ph.D programs and those who succesfully complete the academic requirements will be conferred a diploma certified joitly by Academia Sincia and a relevant national university. There is a possibility for scholarship for successful TIGP candidates.

  5. Molecular and Cell Biology
  6. Nano Science and Technology
  7. Molecular Medicine
  8. Computational Linguistics and Chinese Language Processing

Tuition Fees and Fellowship
Affordable tuition fees (about US$ 1,400 per year); reasonable living and housing costs .

Fellowship will be granted for applicants who receive admission. The stipend levels are about US$ 11,000 per year. Additionally, the support will be extended to two more years for those students who perform well academically.
