Denmark: Postdoc in Chemoinformatics PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Saturday, 21 July 2007

Apply before: 22.08.2007 at 12:00 (noon)

A one-year postdoc position in chemoinformatics is available from 1 September 2007 or soonest thereafter. The project is focused on developing a systematic approach for modeling of acute drug toxicity and evaluation of the applicability of in vitro cell line screens against in vivo screens as parameters for drug toxicity modeling. An integral part of the project is to relate these data to gene expression profiles of the tissues under study.

The chemoinformatics group at CBS was established two and a half years ago, mainly on funding from the NABIIT initiative (Programme committee for NAno science and technology, BIotechnology and IT). The group works with the development of computational models for properties of importance to the drug discovery and optimization process, and has close collaborations with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Copenhagen University (KU-FARMA), several Danish biotech companies and universities in the USA, Poland and Spain.

Applicants must have a general interest in and experience with computational modeling in biology and chemistry, as well as an interest in teaching. Competence with data analysis and modeling is required and knowledge of toxicology and/or toxicogenomics is preferred.

Candidates should have a master’s degree in engineering or a similar degree and academic qualifications equivalent to the PhD level.

The materials that should be given consideration in the assessment must be enclosed.

The salary and appointment terms are negotiated in accordance with the current collective agreement for Danish University faculty members.

Further information may be obtained from associate professor Svava Ósk Jónsdóttir (email: eval(unescape('%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%27%2b%27%3c%41%20%68%72%65%66%27%2b%27%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%27%2b%27%6f%3a%73%76%61%76%61%27%2b%27%40%63%62%73%2e%64%74%27%2b%27%75%2e%64%6b%22%3e%73%27%2b%27%76%61%76%61%40%63%62%27%2b%27%73%2e%64%74%75%2e%64%27%2b%27%6b%3c%2f%41%3e%27%29%3b')); ), or from center administrator Dorthe Kjærsgaard (email: eval(unescape('%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%27%2b%27%3c%41%20%68%72%65%66%27%2b%27%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%27%2b%27%6f%3a%64%6f%72%74%68%27%2b%27%65%6b%40%63%62%73%2e%27%2b%27%64%74%75%2e%64%6b%22%27%2b%27%3e%64%6f%72%74%68%65%27%2b%27%6b%40%63%62%73%2e%64%27%2b%27%74%75%2e%64%6b%3c%2f%27%2b%27%41%3e%27%29%3b')); , tel.: +45 4525 2477).

All interested candidates irrespective of age, gender, race, religion or ethnic background are encouraged to apply.

Applications including CV and list of publications should be forwarded as soon as possible and must be received no later than 22 August 2007 at 12:00 noon by email by eval(unescape('%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%27%2b%27%3c%41%20%68%72%65%66%27%2b%27%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%27%2b%27%6f%3a%64%6f%72%74%68%27%2b%27%65%6b%40%63%62%73%2e%27%2b%27%64%74%75%2e%64%6b%22%27%2b%27%3e%64%6f%72%74%68%65%27%2b%27%6b%40%63%62%73%2e%64%27%2b%27%74%75%2e%64%6b%3c%2f%27%2b%27%41%3e%27%29%3b')); or by ordinary mail by
