The University of Edinburgh and Coca-Cola will offer TWO scholarships for undergraduate study in any subject offered by the university. The scholarship will cover the full tuition fees and an annual maintenance allowance of £5,000 and will be tenable for the duration of the programme of study.

Eligibility

The scholarships are competitive and will be awarded to citizens from Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Russia and the Ukraine who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for an undergraduate course of study and whose personal circumstances would make accepting an offer from the University of Edinburgh difficult.

Applicants must be self-financing. The scholarship is not available to students already on course.

Applicants should have applied through UCAS, should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. Accepting the University of Edinburgh as an insurance offer does not satisfy the conditions relating to this scholarship.

Completed application forms must be returned to the Scholarships and Student Finance Office no later than 3 April 2006.

Selection Procedure

A University of Edinburgh Selection Committee will meet in May 2006 to select the scholarship holders. The winners of the scholarship will be announced in late May 2006.

Termination of Scholarship

The scholarship may be terminated at any time when an unsatisfactory progress report is received from the School or if the scholarship holder ceases to be registered as a full-time student at the University of Edinburgh.

2003-2004 Scholars

Two undergraduate students from Poland and the Ukraine were awarded the first Coca-Cola scholarship at the University of Edinburgh.

2004-2005 Scholars

Two undergraduate students from Russia and Bulgaria have accepted the awards for the 2004-2005 academic session.
