Dear Friends,

As Salaamu’alaykum,

This Ramadan, FTCF will be aiding TCF’s relief effort following mass devastation caused by the recent floods across Pakistan.

The Citizens Foundation staff and supporters aim to provide food packages, water purifying packs and basic medicines to flood affected people, and has set itself a target of 20 million meals over a period of 30 days by supplying 100,000 ration packs to the flood victims.

1 RATION PACK = £ 20

Within each pack will be flour, rice, cooking oil, lentils, dried milk, sugar, salts, spices and dates.

One bag will feed one family for one month

and is worth approx PKR 2,500 (£20)

totalling approximately £2 million.

This will Inshallah help families to survive until the floods subside and longer-term rehabilitation is put in place.

Ø The human impact of the recent floods in Pakistan is worse than that of the earthquake in 2005

Ø The UN has said that the effects of these floods are even more devastating than the 2004 tsunami

A number of TCF schools have been badly affected and the true extent of the damages is as yet still unknown.

This Ramadan, with more rain predicted, please help us in restoring what is ruined and enable TCF to continue providing a quality education to Pakistan’s most disadvantaged children.
