we aim to get 500 stitched suits for men, 300 suits for ladies as well as 1500 kg dal (chana and masoor), 1000 bars of soap,250 kg cooking oil. we might get all this stuff at the end of this weekend. We also received 1000 kg aata yesterday night.

2nd phase :

1. medical camps -- once/week

2. construction material = 1,25,000 / house

3. winter clothes & beddings

How much we can spend in this phase will depend largely on what kind of funds we have at that stage.

The last two days have been spent deciding, extensively surveying and exhaustively discussing future plans !!

Meanwhile 100 packets of food for 100 families for 1 week were distributed in Kotaddu. A list for buying ration for 500 more bags was revised and it was decided that soap and "gur" will be added and these bags would be made in larger sizes to last 15 days for a family of 8 and dry powder milk will be substituted for milkpack.

A medical camp was conducted in Muzzafargarh - where 200 patients were tended to.

We have been promised some funds from APPNA (American Physicians of Pakistani descent in North America) - a gesture much appreciated by the team. We have also seen donations pouring in during the last couple of days - thank you all for your support; every bit is important.

I would like to take this opportunity to also assure you that to date we have not used any donation money for covering overheads such as transport etc. (doctors/volunteers have loaded/unloaded trucks themselves to cut costs).

These people have lost everything : their source of income, their crops , lifestock, all their belongings. It is very difficult to estimate the effort and money that will be needed for rehab, but we promise to deliver to them each and every penny that comes to us for them with full sincerity and to the best of our ability. We also pledge to continue to work till its needed and till we have funds.

Our mobile dispensary is in action and tomorrow it is leaving for Kotaddu with a team of 6 doctors!

Looking forward to your continued support and suggestions,

Dr.Salma Tanweer.
