UK: PhD Studentship in Novel Methods for Measuring Residual Stress at University of Bristol
Faculty of Engineering
The research will seek to develop combined numerical and experimental methods for obtaining locked-in stresses in welded engineering components. A combination of measurement methods and finite element analysis will examined to determine complete field distributions of stresses in components.
A first or upper second-class degree in engineering, mathematics, science or related discipline.
Funding: Tuition fees plus a tax-free stipend of £13,726, funded by Veqter Ltd.
