The Sussex ESRC Doctoral Training Centre is one of the 21 centres chosen by the ESRC, the national research funding council, to develop the next generation of leading researchers in the social sciences. We are now seeking applications from outstanding graduates to undertake innovative doctoral research starting in September 2014.
Sussex ESRC DTC hosts a vibrant community of doctoral researchers from across the social sciences. Sussex is renowned for the quality of its innovative, creative and interdisciplinary research. Doctoral researchers work within one of six interdisciplinary research training pathways, based in our schools of study and research centres. The DTC provides the best possible grounding and continuing support for doctoral researchers at Sussex. Together with regular pathway development events and seminars, academic study at Sussex is complemented by a suite of researcher development courses so that researchers can fully realise their potential. University activities are supplemented by additional support offered by the ESRC. Successful applicants will have their fees paid, as well as receiving a stipend to cover living expenses and access to further funds for research expenses.
