UK: Postgraduate Research Opportunities in Psychology at University of Essex

Description: The Department of Psychology at the University of Essex invites applications to study for a PhD in Psychology. The department has a strong research reputation and was ranked in the top 20 out of more than 100 departments in the country in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise. Over half of our research was rated as world leading or internationally excellent. The University of Essex was ranked ninth out of 159 universities and colleges for the quality of its research. The department has excellent research facilities, including well-equipped, purpose built laboratories in the Centre for Brain Science, and is located in a friendly campus environment.

Eligibility: We welcome applications from candidates who have, or expect to obtain, a first or upper second class degree (or equivalent) in Psychology or a cognate discipline. Applicants will be required to provide two academic references and a research proposal. Applicants should contact a potential research supervisor, and agree a research proposal before submission.
