Sweden : Postdoctoral Position in Psychology at Uppsala University

Duration:The position is for two years.
Uppsala University invites applications for a 2-year postdoctoral position in affective neuroscience at the Department of Psychology. The position is financed by research grants.
Eligibility: To qualify, the applicant must hold a doctor’s degree or a foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a doctorate, acquired at most three years prior to the application deadline. The degree can be older than three years if there are special circumstances. Such special circumstances can be periods of sick leave, parental leave etc.
The research involves brain imaging studies of patients with anxiety disorders including studies of pharmacologic treatment effects on brain functioning. Therefore, the successful candidate should have training in medicine or clinical psychology, ideally with previous experience of patient work and randomized controlled trials. Because the work will involve data collection with positron emission tomography and functional magnetic resonance imaging, knowledge and experience of these two neuroimaging techniques, as well as related statistical analytic methods like Statistical Parametric Mapping, is desirable. Experience of classification techniques in neuroscience, like Support Vector Machine Learning, is also a merit. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a consistent academic record, including publications in international journals. The applicant should have a good social competence because most of the research is conducted within various research groups. The opportunity exists to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level, maximum 20%. Personal interviews of suitable candidates may be conducted.
