UK: Post Doctoral Research Fellow Materials Modelling at The University of Bolton

Temporary fixed term appointment for 2 years

Description: Applications are invited for a two-year Research Fellowship post, starting as soon as possible, to model the electronic structures, electrical/optical properties, and materials energetics/kinetics, in order to guide materials selection and large-area deposition of transparent conducting oxides and barrier coatings for the protection of plastic electronics.

Eligibility: Applicants for the Research Fellowship should have a PhD in Physics, Materials Science, or Electrical/electronic Engineering.  It is essential that the applicants are experienced in using DFT (density functional theory) codes such as VASP/CASTEP and are knowledgeable on modelling electronic structures of correlated materials such as wide-gap oxides. The Researcher is expected to demonstrate the ability to undertake independent research and achieving deadlines and well-defined objectives.  He/she is expected to be a good team player for cross-disciplinary research in a consortium of academics and engineers from UK and Austria.
