UK: Research Assistant in Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London
Salary: £28,770 to £31,880 per annum
Duration:Fixed-term appointment for 30 months
Description: Applications are invited for the post of a Research Assistant to support the research of an exciting new project for the development of neural interfaces. The post will be based at the Centre for Bio-Inspired Technology and be part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes both engineers and clinicians.
Eligibility:Candidates should possess an in-depth knowledge and practical understanding of both analogue and digital techniques. You should have the ability to design, construct and test electronic circuits. Experience in the use of PCB design software as well an understanding of PCB fabrication methodology is essential. You will be expected to design and develop PCBs as well as housing and instrumentation cases and as such industry-level experience is essential. You will also be responsible for the operation, installation and maintenance of equipment used in the project.
Additionally, you will be required to manage the day-to-day operation of the lab facilities and provide technical support to on-going experiments.
Candidates should have a minimum of Degree in electronic engineering (or a related discipline), together with considerable work experience in a similar role. You should be pro-active, possess good organisational and communication skills and be adaptable to new ideas and techniques.
