Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the field of electrochemical energy storage. The post is tenable immediately for up to 24 months in the first instance, with the possibility to extend to up to 60 months. You will be part of a wider team of researchers at Manchester who have been at the forefront of graphene research since its discovery in 2004. Using our state-of-the-art laboratory, measurement and microfabrication facilities you will drive forward a new project to develop technologies for the development of supercapacitors (electrochemical double-layer capacitors) based on two-dimensional materials.

Eligibility: You will hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD in chemistry, material science or a closely related field. The applicant must have extensive electrochemical experience, ideally in the specific area of electrochemical energy storage (batteries, or preferably supercapacitors). Experience in the synthesis and characterisation of graphene and related materials would be advantageous. You should be able to interact effectively with a range of researchers, from other academic disciplines to industrial partners, to drive a programme of research from the laboratory towards commercialization.

Applications addressing the essential and desirable criteria should be made online, including uploading an up to date CV.
