Fixed-term for 18 months

Description:Required to work on a large programme of simulation innovation funded jointly by the EPSRC and a large UK based vehicle manufacturer.
This post involves developing tools to correlate the in-cylinder flow state just prior to combustion with the engine-out emissions in a direct injection spark ignition engine. The successful candidate will work closely with the sponsors and support research students working on the programme.

Eligibility: PhD Qualification or equivalent research experience in a relevant engineering discipline and experience of using CFD in engine cycle simulations and knowledge of appropriate turbulence and combustion models is essential. Experience in the development of 1D/3D coupling and familiarity with large scale computing is desirable.
