Summary:

Applications are invited for a two-year post in the Department of Informatics at King’s College London for a Research Assistant/Research Associate to work with Professors Michael Luck and Peter McBurney in the Agents & Intelligent Systems research group.
The Department of Informatics at King’s College London has five research groups: Agents & Intelligent Systems; Algorithms and Bioinformatics; Centre for Robotics Research; Planning; and Software Modelling and Applied Logic.  King’s College London is one of the top 20 universities in the world (2013/14 QS World University Rankings), and the fourth oldest in England.  A research-led university based in the heart of London, King’s has over 25,000 students (of whom more than 10,000 are graduate students) from nearly 140 countries, and more than 6,500 employees.

Details:

This is a fixed-term post for 2 years. Candidates are expected to have research expertise in some aspect of multi-agent systems, agent-based simulation, evolutionary game theory, or related areas, and have a PhD (or near completion) in computer science, artificial intelligence, agent-based simulation, or econophysics.
The candidate should have the potential to carry out independent research with high levels of originality, innovation and depth that may well lead to significant impact on their field over the long term.
The post is based at the Strand campus of King’s College London.  However, it is a requirement of employment that the post-holder be prepared to work at any additional or different location owned or served by the College, either on an on-going or temporary basis, after due consultation.

Salary:  The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications, within the Grade 5 or 6 scale, currently £26,264 – £37,382 per annum, plus £2,323 per annum London Allowance.

Post duration:  Fixed term contract for 2 years.
