UK: Research Assistant in Geochemistry at University of Edinburgh

College of Science and Engineering:

An opportunity has arisen for a 7-month research assistant position under the Experimental Geosciences cluster to play a key role in developing a research consortium focussed on understanding the formation of economic deposits of heavy rare earth elements (HREE). You will (i) conduct a strategic review of the state-of-the art in experimental studies of lanthanide speciation in solids, melts and aqueous fluids; (ii) organise and co-ordinate Science Innovation Workshops aimed at consortium building; (iii) help with dissemination activities of the consortium, including a organising a public exhibition and production of educational material for schools. You will have a keen interest in scientific research in natural sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Geoscience etc) and an interest in communicating science to the public.

Fixed Term: 7 months

Salary Scale: £25,504 – £29,541
