Leiden University Medical Center

Department

At the Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC), we are continually seeking to improve the quality of healthcare. The research of the department of Medical Statistics and Bioinformatics aims to identify molecular profiles and biological pathways that increase our understanding of common diseases and eventually the prospect of healthy ageing. The department provides an excellent environment for the analysis of high-dimensional data and comprises a lab on epigenomics research, which made a significant contribution to the field for example through its epigenetic studies of the Dutch Famine.
