A postdoctoral position in the Immune Biology of Retroviral Infection Section, Vaccine Branch, NCI, is available to conduct research in HIV vaccine development. Pre-clinical studies are focused on eliciting and characterizing humoral and cellular immune responses, both systemic and mucosal, in non-human primate models, and evaluating protective efficacy. The vaccine strategy is based on priming with replication-competent adenovirus recombinants followed by boosting with protein immunogens.

Candidates should have an M.D. or Ph.D. degree with less than 5 years postdoctoral experience. A strong background in immunology and/or retrovirology is desirable.
