UK: Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Decision Analysis for Natural Hazards at University of Oxford

Description: The Environmental Change Institute (ECI) has received funding from the NERC programme on Probability, Uncertainty and Risk in the Environment (PURE). Within that programme we are responsible for research on applications of risk, uncertainty and decision analysis to drought and flood hazards.

Eligibility: We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Assistant who will work with us to develop and demonstrate new methodology for decision making under uncertainty in the context of natural hazards. Applicants may come from a range of backgrounds including statistics, mathematics, engineering, environmental science or management science. The successful candidate will possess a doctorate or have equivalent research experience in a relevant subject. You will be able to propose and develop new theoretical approaches, and apply them to the analysis and management of natural hazards. You must have published high quality research in the peer-reviewed literature and be able to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary research team.

Duration: The appointment will be available for up to 24 months in the first instance.
