Netherlands: PhD Project Functional Polymeric Additives for Engineering Plastics at Eindhoven University of Technology

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
This project aims to develop novel polymeric surface and rheology modifiers for a range of engineering plastics.  Polymers of controlled architecture and composition will be synthesized by combining controlled radical and step growth polymerization techniques.  These polymers will be fully characterized in terms of molecular structure and physical properties, in order to establish relevant structure-property relationships.  The polymers will then be tested in the targeted (industrial) applications.  As such this project involves important aspects from areas ranging from polymer synthesis to material properties and applications.  The project is funded by the Dutch Polymer Institute and involves several industrial collaborators.

We are looking for a talented, motivated and enthusiastic PhD student with a background in (polymer) chemistry or materials science, who wants to be involved in all aspects of polymer material development.  You should have finished you MSc degree or obtain your MSc degree soon. Preference is given to candidates with knowledge of and experience in polymer synthesis and characterization.  A good knowlegde of the English language is expected from the successful candidate.
