The research is conducted as a part of the EC project FLEXWIN in collaboration with leading academic and industrial European partners. The aim of this project is to investigate the design, modelling and development of novel Ka-band smart antennas which can electronically steer the beams and adaptively adjust their radiation patterns for achieving optimum performance of satellite communication systems. The smart antenna is for applications in high data-rate satellite communications on the move (SatCom on the move).

The Person Requirements:
The successful applicant should hold a PhD degree in Engineering or Physics and have a strong research background in antennas and/or electromagnetics.
Post-doctoral research experience and publications of high-quality papers in antennas will be an advantage.
The Department
