US:Postdoctoral Associate in Envoirnmental Science at University of North Florida

Description: Dr. Heather Barnes Truelove is seeking a dynamic and productive Postdoctoral Associate to work as part of an interdisciplinary team investigating pro-environmental behavior and adaptation to climate change. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in psychology, or related field, with expertise in the psychological dimensions of climate change mitigation and adaptation behaviors. The postdoctoral associate will have the opportunity to work on two, exciting NSF-funded research projects in collaboration with faculty and students at University of North Florida (UNF), Vanderbilt University, and Columbia University.
The postdoc will assist in coordinating a series of experimental lab and field studies at UNF and in implementing a large, international survey effort. The postdoc will also take an active role in conducting literature reviews, analyzing data, and collaborating on writing manuscripts. Additionally, the postdoc will gain experience supervising undergraduate and graduate students.

Deadline: The preferred start date is September 15, 2013. The position is tenable for one year, with the possibility of extension for one subsequent year contingent on performance and funding. Salary is competitive.

Goals: The position will involve working with Heather Barnes Truelove in the psychology department at UNF. UNF is part of Florida’s State University System and was recently awarded the Carnegie Foundation “Community Engagement” designation. Required Qualifications :
– Ph.D. in psychology or related social science
– Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player – Ability to analyze data from quantitative surveys and experimental designs
– Experience with SPSS, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications
– A record of publications in peer-reviewed journals
– Ability to travel to Asia at least once per year
– Experience with MPlus
– Ability to analyze qualitative data
