Job description

  • You prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of preclinical Magnetic Resonance Imaging in mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease.
  • You contribute to teaching and research in the Dept. Biomedical Sciences / Faculty of Pharmaceutical, Biomedical & Veterinary Sciences /research group Bio-Imaging Lab

Profile and requirements

  • You hold a master degree  in Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Veterinary Sciences, Bio-Engineer or related Bio Sciences;
  • You can submit outstanding academic results;
  • Also students in the final year of their degree can apply;
  • Foreign candidates are encouraged to apply;
  • Your academic qualities comply with the requirements stipulated in the university’s policy(;
  • You are quality-oriented, conscientious, creative, customer-oriented and cooperative;
  • You are clearly a good team player, you are a creative and critical scientist. You are a collaborative dynamic person who likes to work in a multidisciplinary research environment;
  • You are very motivated to perform basic scientific research and you possess strong communication competences.  You can communicate well in English (written and spoken);
  • Having experience with neurosciences in the domain of MRI acquisition and processing, small animal (mice) handling is a bonus;
  • You have a FELASA C certificate, or are willing to obtain one.

We offer

  • A doctoral scholarship for a period of two years, with the possibility of renewal for a further two-year period after positive evaluation;
  • The start date of scholarship will be October 1st 2013, November 1st 2013, December 1st 2013 or January 1st 2014;
  • A monthly grant amount ranging from € 2.124,11 – € 2.265,67;
  • A dynamic and stimulating work environment.
