Novel Switching Concept Development and Demonstration (REPOINT)

Duration:Fixed-Term for 12 Months

Description:Required to work within the Control Systems research group on a project funded by the UK railway industry’s Enabling Innovation Team, which supports practical cross-industry demonstrator projects. It is the next stage of research into the REPOINT concept, which is based upon a fundamental re-think of railway track switching to remove failure modes and, where appropriate, introduce redundancy.  The focus of the work will be upon the electrical, electronic and control aspects of the project.

Eligibility:As well as having a good degree (or equivalent qualification) in an appropriate Engineering discipline, you will have experience in an academic or industrial environment as well as in system modelling & analysis and practical implementation of mechatronic systems.
