Description: The Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment at the University of Western Sydney conducts fundamental and applied research in a range of areas that include soil microbiology, plant-soil interactions, genomics and bioinformatics, plant physiology, climate change biology, and plant-environment interactions.A Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Soil Microbial Ecology is available for an active, dynamic individual with research expertise in soil carbon / biogeochemical cycling and/or molecular microbial ecology. The candidate will conduct research into the relationship between microbial diversity and soil carbon functionality, and contribute to refining simulation models (APSIM) focussed towards building resilient and profitable cropping system. The successful candidate will require soil carbon, greenhouse gas measurements and molecular microbial ecology skills as well as skills in establishing laboratory microcosms.

Remuneration Package: Academic Level A $91,289 AUD to $96,851 AUD p.a (comprising Salary $77,140 AUD to $81,840 AUD p.a. plus 17% Superannuation and Leave Loading)
