Austria: PhD Position / Project Collaborator “Advanced User Interface Engineer/Researcher”

The Human-Computer Interaction & Usability Unit of the ICT&S Center at the University of Salzburg invites applicants for a PhD position or project collaborator related to national and international research and cooperation projects.

The HCI Unit is doing research in the areas of Contextual User Experience, Contextual User Experience Measurement, Interface Simulation & Prototyping, Human-Robot Interaction, Automotive Interfaces, Factory Interfaces, Ambient Persuasion, Ambient Assisted Living and Networked Media. The Unit is running several projects including a Christian Doppler Laboratory on “Contextual Interfaces”.

Task:

– Software Engineering in the filed of Human-Computer Interaction

– Implementation of solutions in 3D/2D Simulation

– Design of 3D models and interactive prototypes

– Deployment of virtual interaction prototypes

– Deployment of solutions in the area of simulation and mixed reality

– Technical project support

– Working closely with interdisciplinary team members (computer scientists, psychologists’, interaction designer etc.)

Requirements:

– Knowledge in the fields Software Engineering, virtual prototyping and 3D simulation

– Computer literacy (program languages)

– Experience in 3D technologies
