Title of the project
“The role of cognitive distance in learning and innovation in R&D teams”

Project description
Diversity of team members provides teams with cognitive resources necessary to perform complex, knowledge-creation tasks, like for example R&D projects. These benefits, however, may be overshadowed by conflicts and other process difficulties resulting from higher team diversity. The research question this project addresses is thus: what type of and how much diversity is needed in an innovation team in order to make it effective at R&D tasks?
