Ireland: PhD Scholarship in Bioinformatics at the National University of Ireland, Galway

A fully funded PhD studentship in Bioinformatics is available in the research group
of Prof. Cathal Seoighe at the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics, National University of Ireland Galway. The position is not tied to a specific research project and the successful applicant will have the freedom to choose a project from any of the following research areas:

* Human transcriptome variation and disease
* Probabilistic models of HIV-1 evolution
* Immunoinformatics
* Other areas of mutual interest

Located on the west coast of Ireland, the National University of Ireland Galway provides an excellent environment for further study. Bioinformatics is based in the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics, but with strong links to Life Sciences departments across campus. This position would suit a mathematics, statistics, computer science or engineering graduate, or a graduate from any of the molecular life sciences, with an aptitude for computers and an open mind. Preference will be given to applicants from EU countries.
