Supervised by Prof. Dominique Sauter and Joseph Yamé Centre de Recherche en Automatique de Nancy – CRAN – UMR 7039 Nancy University, Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy, France

We are seeking a highly motivated graduate student to work in the area of Diagnosis and Fault-tolerant Control. The specific project is on developing novel approaches to fault-tolerant control (FTC) based on the behavioral paradigm of J.C. Willems. This is a theoretical-oriented research aiming at formulating and solving control problems for dynamical systems under severe faulty conditions.

A 3-year PhD fellowship (funded by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research) is available for this project. The post offers an exciting opportunity to tackle fundamental research problems within a stimulating research environment with state of the art experimental platforms.

Candidates should have a Master degree and demonstrate excellent academic record and the ability to do independent research. A strong background in dynamical systems, applied mathematics as well as a good knowledge of the Matlab/Simulink environment is required.
