Round Table Commonwealth Awards for Young Scholars

In celebration of the centenary of The Round Table and the 60th anniversary of the modern Commonwealth, the Round Table Commonwealth Awards for Young Scholars will be awarded to six students from Commonwealth countries studying at a UK University in the academic year 2008-9. Each student will be awarded £1,000 and a travel grant to conduct a 3 week study visit to a Commonwealth country in the summer of 2009 as part of his or her existing academic research projects (either undergraduate or postgraduate) . On their return, scholars will write up their research into an article for publication in The Round Table and disseminate their findings through presentations to other students. The awards will offer an unforgettable
experience for personal development and provide an initial stepping stone onto a promising academic career. Potential applicants should return the
application form with a sample of their academic work and reference from their research project supervisor, to the Round Table Hodson Committee at
