We
seek an outstanding graduate to work on a PhD in the SWAT project
(Semantic Web Authoring Tool) in the Natural Language Generation group
(http://mcs.open.ac.uk/nlg). The studentship is available to applicants
for full-time 3 year research.

SWAT is a 3-year joint project at
the Open University and Manchester University which aims to develop
tools allowing ordinary users to create and edit ontologies and
metadata on the Semantic Web through a natural language interface. The
PhD research task will be to develop and evaluate novel techniques for
intuitive user interaction with ontologies and data.
You will have
an outstanding educational and/or experiential background in
Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science or Computational
Linguistics.
