UK: Research Associate in Radar Systems

We wish to recruit a Research Associate from 1st April 2009
or as soon as possible thereafter to work on "Air 3D
detection of manned and unmanned platforms", a project
supported by the European Commission. The postholder will
be required to carry out research in the area of design and
deployment of radar networks for 3D airspace surveillance.
This work will include designing and running computer
simulations and experiments, and recording, analysing and
writing up the results as part of a research team. The
duration of the appointment will be 24 months in the first
instance with the possibility of extension depending on
funding.

Qualifications and experience required: Candidates should
hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD, and have a first degree
in an engineering or physical sciences subject. Substantial
research experience in the area of surveillance or
communications technologies is required, and experience in
radar systems research would be an advantage.

The post is on Grade 7, point 29 (starting salary
£31,620 per annum including London Allowance).
