Denmark: Two PhD Scholarships within Enzyme BioProcess Technology
{googlepost1}
(noon)
Two three year PhD Scholarships within a) Enzymatic Upgrading of Plant
Biomass and b) Membrane Assisted Enzyme Fractionation, respectively, are
available at the Dept. of Chemical Engineering, DTU. Both PhD projects will be
carried out within the Novozymes BioProcess Academy. The Academy is a close
research and PhD educational cooperation, i.e. with co-supervision and
co-financing, between The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and the company
Novozymes A/S – the latter being a world leading enzyme producing company.
We are looking for candidates that have a strong background in biochemical
engineering with keen interests in industrially oriented bioprocess research.
For each position, the candidate should be innovative and have an interest in
accomplishing academically driven, experimental work at both lab scale and pilot
scale levels. For the PhD scholarship within Plant Biomass vUpgrading prior
knowledge of plant polymer chemistry, enzymatic plant cell wall modification,
rheology, and/or materials science is advantageous. For the PhD scholarship on
Membrane Processes for Enzyme Fractionation, candidates having enzyme protein
purification and/or down stream processing experience, preferably within
membrane technology, will be favored.
Candidates must have an MSc degree in Chemical Engineering or Process
Biotechnology or equivalent. The succesful candidates will be part of Novozymes
BioProcess Academy and will be enrolled in the PhD degree programme of Chemisty,
Biotechnology, and Chemical Engineering at The Technical University of Denmark.
The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD
degree students. Please note: The scholarships for each of the advertised PhD
projects are subject to academic approval at The Technical University of
Denmark.
Information about the general requirements for enrolment and the general
planning of the PhD studies is included in the general rules of DTU, which may
be found via: http://www.dtu.dk/English/education/Phd_Education.aspx
