Korea: Master and Doctoral Scholarships in Global IT Technology

ITTP, sponsored by the Korean government, offers a customized master’s
and doctoral degree program for government officials, employees of
public institutions or senior-level researchers at national research
centers working in the IT fields of foreign countries. All the students
will receive scholarships, up to 2 years for master degree students and
up to 3 years for doctoral degree students.

This program focuses on transferring advanced technologies and business
strategies of Korea to the next generation global IT leaders. After the
education at ICU, a distinguished IT university, the ITTP students will
acquire not only all the accumulated know-hows of the IT industry of
Korea but also the creative abilities to apply learned knowledges and
skills to their own countries. The graduates of the program will
receive updates of current developments in the IT fields of Korea
through annual or biannual newsletters, and remain networked through
regularly scheduled seminars.


Important Dates for Application and Admission for fall 2006

  • May 31st, 2006 : Acceptance of application
  • June 2006 : Evaluation of application
  • July 1st, 2006 : Notification of acceptance
  • August 28th, 2006 : Start of fall semester

Qualification:

  • Government officials, employees of public institutions, or
    senior-level researchers at national research centers working in the
    IT-related fields
  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in the
    IT-related area
  • English Proficiency: TOEFL(PBT 500/CBT 173) score or the equivalent

    All the ITTP students will receive scholarships, up to 2 years for
    master’s degree students and up to 3 years for doctoral degree
    students.

    The scholarship for the ITTP students is as follows;

    • Tuition fees (Master: up to 2 years/ Doctorate: up to 3 years)
    • Airfare (up to 1,500,000 Korean won*)
    • Living cost (up to 1,500,000 Korean won per month)
    • Initial moving and re-location expenses and medical insurance

    * 1,000 Korean won = (approximately) 1.00 US dollars (as of spring 2006).

    Students who want to apply for ITTP must prepare the following

    1. Study Plan
    2. Personal data
    3. Interested areas of study & Advisor
    4. Two letters of recommendation – in English

      * One additional letter of recommendation from the head of your
      organization / institution if you are applying for special admission
      as a faculty member of a foreign institution or an employee of a
      foreign Government.

    5. Copies of diplomas from all previously attended college-level schools
    6. Certified/official transcripts of all previously attended
      college-level schools
    7. Certificate of TOEFL or IELTS score(original copy or directly sent
      from ETS/IELTS) (If you don’t have the above certificate, it will be
      replaced with an interview)
    8. Copy of passport
    9. Others (If available)
      – Outline of master’s thesis for the Ph.
    10. program applicants only
      – Published papers, if available

    Students who wish to apply to ITTP must submit their application form
    to the Korean Embassy in their country and notify their application to
    the Administration Office of ITTP by completing the necessary form on
